The Product Design stage is all about the birthing of a product. During this stage we move from blue sky to nuts and bolts: a physical, working model based on your product’s technology, refined by material selection and an in-depth understanding of the production processes. The key to our success at this stage is the ability to transform our design concepts into concrete details. 

Typically, our designers combine, refine and synthesize elements from various concepts from the Concept Generation phase. For each selected design, 3DM Design  will use mechanical design, component layouts, analysis and other prototyping methods to develop a more detailed, working model that verifies the product’s form, fit and function. General parts breakout and assembly issues are considered, leading to system mechanical architecture solutions. We identify the components, materials and production processes that best suit our client’s preferences and meet their needs for features and functionality. 3DM Design  then contacts potential suppliers, sub-contractors and manufacturers to optimize design paths and confirm viability and begin to get a sense of production logistics, cost and technical issues.
