CEO John Gibbons established 3DM Design Ltd in 2004 from a successful background in product design and development. 

John's passion for customer focused, market led innovations has won him numerous patents and awards in the industry. He 
brings over 10 years experience in product design and over 20 years in the marine industry.
Leading a close group of employees and design associates means he can tackle small and large projects with efficiency while overseeing
each project personally.

John's Story:

John grew up along side his father in the garage repairing cars, boats and motorcycles.
Having a full workshop at hand meant he could tinker away on new ideas and develop important workshop skills under his fathers guidance.
Always wanting to be a mechanic like his father, he took it to the next level and graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering(Mech) from Auckland University. 

Chasing a dream of being a professional waterskier. He  represented his country at the highest level competing at World Championships, Asia-Australasia Championships and World Games Tournaments throughout the world.
But he was always in the workshop designing and tuning water skis, testing speed control systems on tournament boats and testing and designing high performance water skis

When he returned to New Zealand he developed his skills as a design engineer. While working in a design team for one of Wellingtons world renowned manufacturing company, Interlock Group, he could see the value innovation and design can benefit companies, meant he wanted to create his own design business developing all sorts of different products and seeing customers ideas come to a working reality.

The mission was to create a design and development company that offered superior service and technical skill to companies in the manufacturing and engineering fields.

And so 3DM Design is now full steam ahead
